Candlewood Lake - Sherman, CT

There’s almost more to say about what it took just to get the permits for this project; the rest speaks for itself. After two failed attempts by a previous architect to obtain variances from the local ZBA, this client came to us with a clear problem: how do we get our program approved by the local municipality? It certainly wasn’t easy. 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, & 5000 sf. of useful space would require some serious creativity to fit it all into this arrowhead-shaped waterfront lot. Somehow, we found a way to do it without going back to the local zoning appeals board. Some of our greatest efforts and achievements are not clearly visible in the final product, but if these walls could talk, they’d tell quite the story.
